Brenzone - Geography
It is said that the name Brenzone derives from the surname Brenzoni. Located on the Veronese shores of Lake Garda and just 46 km from Verona, the borough of Brenzone stretches for about 50 square km and rises from 65 m above sea level on the lake to 2200 m on Cima Telegrafo peak. It has about 2400 residents and includes several small towns that are dotted on the slopes of Monte Baldo, such as Marniga and Prada, and the neighbourhoods of Castello, Castelletto, Marniga, Magugnano, Porto and Assenza, in front of which lies the island of Trimelone. The mild climate that characterises all the areas around Lake Garda means that the cultivations of olives, evergreen oaks, cypresses, almonds and oleanders flourish. It is here that Lake Garda reaches its greatest depths at 350m.
